The little things can add up and they are adding up everyday
for most people. It only takes about 20 times to form a new habit and these
habits have become daily occurrences in majority of people’s lives. Zion Lights
shares the “10 Daily Habits That are Killing the Environment”. Some of the
habits are; leaving the lights on, energy is a source that cannot be replaced
so if it is not needed, turn your lights off.
Eating mean that is farmed, reduce your intake of meat, which will
decrease your carbon footprint significantly, by going vegetarian on different
times. The needs for cattle are taking a huge impact on the planet. Many acres
of the rainforest are destroyed in order to farm soy crops and grains to feed
cattle. Cattle basically living are destroying the planet, overgrazing cattle
one reason why there is global soil depletion and a huge contributor to climate
pollution. Using and ignoring plastic. Usually when going shopping at any
store, you are given a plastic bag to hold your purchases, the bags add up and
usually wash up in the ocean. Many products that stores carry are wrapped in
plastic, it’s easy to ignore. Wasting water by running the tap while doing the
dishes or taking too long of showers wastes a great amount of water. Wasting
paper; reduce and reuse as much paper as you can. Even though people believe
that recycling is a good ch
oice for the environment but recycling still takes a
good amount of energy and wasting energy is harmful too. The hardest habit to
break would be flushing the toilet. Every flush just flushes water down the
drain and wastes it and wasting is harmful. All these habits can be fixed or altered;
any effort will help the planet last a little longer.
